 DOMENICA MONTERO English language recap I’m going to blend episode 25-26 together. Events may not all be listed in order. We start episode 25 with the cops finding the empty bottles of chemicals (that killed Luis’s bean crop) on Domenica’s land. Luis does not immediately assume Domenica is guilty, but he does say to her, “Swear to me you had nothing to do with this!” She feels everyone is blaming her. Godfather, Tia, and Nana talk about what to do - Godfather thinks that the truth will win out, and they should cooperate and wait.  This doesn’t work well, because even though Luis refuses to blame Domenica and gives her the benefit of the doubt, Mercedes, full of venom directed at Domenica, decides to file a complaint (or press charges). She never got around to selling her part of the hacienda to San Genis (Lawyer friend) so she has the legal right - she’s still an owner. Her complaint lands Domenica in the slammer in handcuffs.  Domenica Montero - Episode 20 This is summarized and abbreviated, and events may be told out of order! We return to Domenica overhearing Prudencio telling Nana that Pedro is really Luis’s brother. Domenica interrupts them, all amazed, and Prudencio immediately mumbles a denial and tries to scuttle away, but Nana decides to admit the truth. Dominica’s first instinct is to tell everyone, because Pedro deserves to know. But she also jumps on Mercedes’ blame for this, noting that Mercedes is all high and mighty for someone who created the circumstances that caused Pedro to be abandoned. (I think it’s a stretch to blame Mercedes - her faithless husband could have done something *far* better for Pedro than dumping him on Prudencio and throwing him a few pesos now and then. He didn’t even plan for Pedro’s care if he should die prematurely, which he did.) Nana and Prudencio try to talk Domenica out of blabbing, noting how much harm it would cause, seeing how fond Pedro is of Mercedes. Dom...

 Domenica Montero episodios 17-20 These will be briefer recaps and somewhat lumped together in themes, and not everything is in chronological order - this binge watch has taken it out of me, but finally I’ve caught up! At the beginning of episode 17, we resume with Luis and Domenica locking lips. The next thing we see, he’s working on the buttons of her top. I’m thinking, wow, after a few kisses this is what you expect, Luis Fernando? Bit audacious there, aren’t you? Well, Domenica is more gracious than I would be, she just stops him and shakes her head. He accepts this. They talk about what “this” is, and hash out their concerns, like maybe this is, whatever, rebound, loneliness, whatever? (I know that there’s a trend among widowers to remarry very fast - it’s a thing, but it is not because of lack of love for the deceased wife. I’m just going to bang out an outline and some thoughts and flesh things out. This is a great novela and there’s a lot going on, so I’m going through the episodes fast - it’s too much to try to keep everything in strict chronological order and describe every scene. I’m going to cover these two and a half episodes kind of as one block. I’ll place things that I know come later near the end of the recap, but please forgive if things jump around.  Domenica Montero episode 12, 13, part of 14. This is a from-memory, out of order, possibly not completely accurate English language recap of the telenovela Domenica Montero. This blog is meant to be a supplement to the telenovela blog Caray Caray. We return to the Laguna or body of water where Domenica has decided to take a dip. She took her top off and is peacefully swimming when she sees that “uncomfortable neighbor” (vecino incómodo) Luis Fernando in the water too! She accuses him of spying on her, he protests too much, says he’s rather kiss her horse. This prompts her to impulsively kiss him, a kiss he most definitely and enthusiastically reciprocates. Then all of a sudden Domenica comes to her senses, says “what am I doing?” and “This is not me!” as Luis looks at her with a stunned, deer-in-the-headlights expression. She says “Go!” and he says “Why?” to which she replies that she doesn’t have a top on and she can’t get out of the water without being seen. He finally seems to ...

He warns her that he won’t be letting it happen again. And he’s right; he and Prudencio are waiting with rifles when Genero and his men saunter up later to bust down the fences to water the cattle. There’s a kerfuffle, and later Generó shows Domenica a bullet hole in his hat and says Luis did it.
